Deathpact has revealed the release date of their debut studio album, FROM DARKNESS, COMES LIGHT, after nearly six years of gradual world-building that has turned the project into one of electronic music’s most closely watched enigmas.
Comprising a total of 26 tracks, the full record is a two-disc album building upon its first half, FROM DARKNESS, which dropped back in May 2024 and unveiled the first 14. You can read our review of that project here.
The story began in 2019, when Deathpact first appeared on the electronic music scene, performing behind masks and refusing to reveal any identifying information. Their performances, often dubbed “materializations,” have featured multiple masked figures appearing together, leaving audiences uncertain about who or how many people actually make up Deathpact.
The strategy has worked, to say the least. What started as a curiosity within EDM circles became a devoted following that treats each new clue with the enthusiasm typically reserved for prestige television reveals. Collaborations with artists such as REZZ, Zeds Dead and the French electronic music icon Jean-Michel Jarre have further cemented Deathpact’s renown, connecting the project to established names while preserving its own air of mystery.
Rather than unveiling singles and an album on a standard promotional schedule, the anonymous collective has spent years dropping songs, puzzles and hidden activations that fans have pieced together like chapters of an ongoing story. Each release has embedded new details to a tortuous mythology that has grown increasingly elaborate alongside the project’s live shows.
For a project built on secrecy, the upcoming release marks something of a culmination. Years of scattered clues and immersive experiences are set to converge into a single, complete work, giving fans their first full look at the story Deathpact has been telling all along.

The latest puzzle piece is ‘LOW,’ the final single to release before the album. The track begins with a confessional monologue (“Once I gave in, the chords, they just came out of me. Whether I like it or not, they tell the truth. So I guess this is me”) before swelling into a haunting bridge, awash in lilting synthscapes and aching lyrics that tackle the heavy burden of swallowing pain.
Just when you think Deathpact has entirely abandoned the rave, the track plummets into a distorted midtempo drop. True to its name, it brings us down to the floorboards of human emotion before rattling the foundation entirely.
