Bright Eyes are canceling their 2024 tour dates. The announcement comes after the band recently pulled out of Riot Fest and two other concerts. Bright Eyes have said that they’re canceling the shows because Conor Oberst “has developed a condition that is exacerbated by excessive singing, requiring both treatment and recuperation.” The band plans to return to the road in 2025. See Bright Eyes’ full statement on the Concerts below.
Earlier this month, Bright Eyes played warmup shows, in Chicago, Clevelandand Philadelphiain advance of their new album, Five Dice, All Threes. They had been due to resume their 2024 tour, in Oakland, in October. They were also due to perform at the inaugural Best Friends Forever Festivalin Las Vegas, before playing shows in the United Kingdom and Europe.
We regret to announce that we will have to cancel our shows for the rest of the year including in Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas and Europe. We love our fans and are incredibly disappointed that we won’t be able to play these shows. All tickets for headline shows will be refunded at point of purchase and we will keep everyone posted on plans for rescheduling.
Over the past week, Conor has undergone multiple tests to determine the cause of his recent vocal problems. It’s come to light that he has developed a condition that is exacerbated by excessive singing, requiring both treatment and recuperation. We are confident that with a successful regimen, and continued medical attention, we will be able to return to the road next year.
Much love & thank you for your understanding.
