Veterans and active duty military members have made huge sacrifices to keep our country safe. The least we can do is honor them with deals and freebies on Veterans Day, which falls on November 11. Here are some of the best Veterans Day freebies and deals available in 2024.

Tons of Veterans Day Freebies at Restaurants

A number of restaurants are giving free meals to veterans and active duty military, including Applebee’s, Denny’s, and California Pizza Kitchen. These freebies are only available at participating locations, so call ahead to confirm your local restaurant is offering these promotions. Keep in mind that you may also need to provide proof of service to get your complimentary entree. 

Applebee’s 

Applebee’s offers a freebie for veterans and active-duty military members every year. At select locations, service members can choose a free meal from a select menu. Dine-in only. 

Bob Evans 

Veterans and active-duty military can get a free meal from Bob Evans’ select menu on November 11. Dine-in only. 

Bonefish Grill 

Bonefish is joining in on the fun by giving away a complimentary order of Bang Bang Shrimp with a soda on Veterans Day. You will need to provide proof of service to claim this offer. 

Buffalo Wild Wings 

If you’re in the mood for boneless wings, Buffalo Wild Wings is offering vets and active-duty personnel 10 boneless wings and fries free-of-charge. You’ll need to present a valid ID for this offer. It is available for dine-in or you can order your food to-go at the counter.

California Pizza Kitchen 

Select menu items will be free for veterans and active-duty military members on November 11. On top of that, they’l receive a BOGO coupon for a pizza, pasta, or salad that is redeemable between November 12 and November 25. 

Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A is also honoring veterans and service members with a Veterans Day freebie. They can get a breakfast chicken biscuit or lunch/dinner original chicken sandwich for free on November 11. Proof of service is required to claim this offer. Also, it will only be available at certain locations, so you’ll want to call ahead and see if your local Chick-fil-A is participating. 

Cici’s Pizza 

On November 11, veterans and active duty members can receive a free adult buffet with valid ID. 

Chili’s 

Chili’s has a Veterans Day freebie for retired and active-duty military personnel. On November 11, they can get a free meal at all participating locations. ID will be require to claim and the deal is available for dine-in only. 

Cracker Barrel 

Cracker Barrel is thanking service members with a complimentary Sunrise Pancake Special. They’re also offering 25% off military-themed apparel in-store and online from November 1 through November 11. 

Dave & Buster’s 

If you’re in the mood for some games, Dave & Buster’s is offering a great Veterans Day freebie too. Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free entree (up to $20) on November 11. They will also receive a free $10 Power Card for games. Valid ID is required. 

Denny’s 

From 5 a.m. until 12 p.m., Denny’s is providing all veterans and active-duty personnel with a free Original Grand Slam on November 11. Valid identification is required.

Dunkin 

Dunkin is offering Veterans Day freebies too. Both active and retired military members can grab a free donut while supplies last on November 11. This isn’t available for On-the-Go Mobile orders.

Firehouse Subs

Active-duty military personnel and veterans get a free medium sub with the purchase of a medium or large sub meal on Veterans Day. You’ll need to provide valid military ID to claim this deal.

Golden Corral 

Golden Corral holds a Military Appreciation Night every year on Veterans Day. From 4 p.m. to close, veterans and active-duty military members can stop in for a free meal. The buffet restaurant has served up 6.4 million free meals since starting this program. 

Hooters 

Hooters has a special menu for Veterans Day. Active and retired members of the military can choose a free meal from this menu on November 11. A drink purchase is necessary to claim this offer and it’s only available for dine-in patrons. 

In-N-Out 

With proof of service, veterans and active-duty military members can get a free meal on November 11. 

iHOP 

iHop is offering a patriotic meal for veterans and active-duty military personnel. They can get free red, white, and blueberry pancakes on Veterans Day. This is limited to one per guest and valid ID or proof of service is required.

Krispy Kreme 

You can grab a free coffee and a donut on Veterans Day at Krsipy Kreme. 

Little Caesar’s Pizza 

Little Caesar’s Pizza has a lunch special for veterans on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At participating locations, all active-duty military members and veterans can get a free lunch combo. You will need to provide proof of service and it should be noted not every location will take part in this promotion. 

The Melting Pot 

Veterans deserve a nice meal out and The Melting Pot is trying to make sure that happens. Vets and current military members can get a free four-course meal for free with the purchase of a second four-course meal on Veterans Day. Proof of service is required to claim this offer.

Olive Garden 

Olive Garden is running a special menu for vets and active-duty military personnel on November 11. They can choose any entree, paired with breadsticks and soup or salad. 

Outback Steakhouse 

Outback is thanking service members with a free Bloomin’ Onion and soft drink on Veterans Day. This deal is eligible for both dine-in and to-go orders. 

Red Lobster 

Red Lobster has a special meal for vets and active-duty military members on November 11. With a valid military ID, they can get a free shrimp and chips, with fries and coleslaw. 

Red Robin 

Free bottomless fries and Red’s Big Tavern Burger? Yes, please! Red Robin is offering up these two items from their menu for retired and active duty military members on November 11. You must be dining in to take advantage of this freebie. 

Starbucks 

Veterans, active-duty personnel, and their spouses can get a free 12 oz drip coffee (hot or cold) on November 11.

Subway 

There are two deals available to veterans and active-duty service members at Subway for Veterans Day. You can get a free 6-inch sub or a 10% discount on any other sub sandwich. Not all locations will be participating in this promo. 

Wendy’s 

Wendy’s is offering up free breakfast for veterans and active-duty personnel on November 11. Get a breakfast combo for $0. Keep in mind, this deal can’t be combined with any other offers or discounts. It is also not available for digital, delivery, or kiosk orders.

Other Deals and Discounts 

Members of the armed forces can also get discounts at select retailers this Veterans Day, including Dollar General and Target. 

Dollar General 

Veterans, active duty military, and their families can get 11% off  qualifying purchases at Dollar General on Monday, November 11. This deal is also available online by using promo code MILITARY11

Target 

From October 27 through November 11, Target is offering a 10% discount to all U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families. 

Walgreens 

From November 8 through November 11, veterans, active military, and their family members can get 20% off eligible regular price items at Walgreens or Duane Read stores. You have to have a myWalgreens membership and provide proof of service. 

Great Clips 

Every year, Great Clips provides veterans and active-duty military members with the opportunity to get a free haircut. If you don’t need one that day, they’ll provide you with a voucher for a free haircut in the future. To date, they’ve done over 2.3 million haircuts for active and veteran military service members as a part of their “Thank a Veteran” program. This adds up to more than $35 million in complimentary haircuts.
