Not only is John Mulaney one of GQ’s Men of the Year, but he’s been crowned a “hair icon!”
Mulaney, 42, arrived at the GQ Men of the Year 2024 event at Bar Marmont in Los Angeles, where he was honored as Comedian of the Year by the publication.
To celebrate the occasion, he wore a sophisticated light gray suit paired with a jet-black button-down shirt. He rounded out the contrasting ensemble with black patent leather loafers.

The comedian also wore his hair in his latest, longer style.
Ahead of the event, he spoke with GQ’s Chris Black and Jason Stewart on the red carpet, and Stewart asked, “What does it feel like to be an emerging hair icon?”
“To be a hair icon. Look. It was an expensive wig,” Mulaney jokingly replied. “The stapling hurt, so to get it in there, have it locked in.”
The pair also asked him what it’s like to be one of GQ’s Men of the Year while his wife, Olivia Munn, is doing SKIMS ads. “Are you concerned that your family unit is potentially becoming too sexy?”
“This is a conversation that a lot of American families are having right now,” Mulaney joked back. “And honestly, it’s one that we are watching closely and monitoring very closely.”

Although Mulaney spoke about his wife, Munn, 44, she was not in attendance at the event. However, the pair have accompanied one another to several red carpet events this year, including the InStyle Imagemaker Awards. At the October event, Mulaney presented Munn with the publication’s Woman of Impact Award for her women’s health advocacy following her breast cancer diagnosis this year.
The two looked classy and coordinated at the Oct. 24 event, with Munn wearing a black floor-length slip dress with a low back and Mulaney sporting a black suit with a white button-down and dark green tie.

Earlier this year, the two coordinated again at Paris Fashion Week. The couple wore chic gray outfits to the Hermes SS25 Men’s Show on June 22.
The comedian wore a gray checkered suit over a button-down shirt and black dress shoes. Munn opted for a less traditional take in a long, sleeveless gray blazer over matching pants. She pulled her hair back with black sunglasses and paired the look with a small chocolate brown purse.

Munn shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram of their looks as Mulaney jokingly “practiced” watching his first fashion show before it started, making exaggerated facial expressions.
“Baby’s first fashion show 😆,” she captioned the post. “Thank you for having us @hermes 🧡”
