Since the launch of Bing Image Creator in March of 2023, billions of images have been created. We consistently see image generation as one of the top reasons our users turn to AI, from letting their imagination run wild, bringing an idea to life, or finding the perfect image for their next project.
Today, we’re bringing a series of enhancements to Bing Image Creator so you can experience the magic of creation like never before. Read more below or visit Bing.com/create to get started.
The latest model
AI is at the heart of Bing Image Creator, bringing cutting-edge technology to your fingertips so you can use your own words to describe the picture you want to see – and have it brought to life within seconds. At Microsoft, we want to continue delivering these delightful experiences at the click of a button.
Starting today, we’re rolling out the latest DALL-E 3 model PR16 which will allow users to create images twice as fast as before with higher quality.
Even more ways to create images
We’re excited to introduce the ability to create images directly from the Bing search bar and even the Microsoft Edge address bar.*
This makes it that much easier for you to generate stunning visuals in a flash without needing to navigate away from your current tasks. Images will appear on the search engine results page where you can recreate, share, or save your image for later. This functionality is available on both desktop and mobile.
You can try this yourself by typing “create an image of…” in the search bar.
User choice on how to generate images is at the forefront of Bing Image Creator now; have a quick idea and need inspiration? Try typing right in the Edge address bar* or Bing search bar. Want to focus, refine, and reiterate? Bing.com/create is your go-to place.
A fresh design
Bing.com/create has always been the homepage for the internet to create images. Today, we’re refreshing our desktop experience with a minimalistic design and easier navigation.
This clean and intuitive layout lets you focus on what matters most – creating beautiful images effortlessly. Plus, you can now switch between light and dark modes to suit your preferences. This refreshed homepage is also coming soon to mobile devices.
Share your creations
Did you just bring to life your idea? Maybe you now have a visual to inspire others? Sharing your creations just got easier with more sharing capabilities to social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram messages with just a few clicks.

These improvements will start to roll out today across all platforms, with the refreshed homepage coming soon to mobile devices. We can’t wait to see what you create with Bing Image Creator.

Responsible AI
At Microsoft, our teams are guided by our Responsible AI principles and the Responsible AI Standard to help them develop and deploy AI systems responsibly. We’ve put controls in place that aim to limit the generation of harmful or unsafe images. When Bing Image Creator detects that a potentially harmful image could be generated by a prompt, it automatically blocks the prompt and informs the user.
We also make it clear that Bing Image Creator’s images are generated by AI. A watermark appears in the bottom left corner of each image created using Image Creator. We have implemented content credentials, provenance based on the C2PA standard, to help users to identify AI generated Images. We allow living artists, celebrities, and organizations to make requests to limit the creation of images associated with their names and brands via the AI-powered features option on our Report a Concern form.
