Halsey Will get Kinky as a Dominatrix in NSFW Music Video for ‘Safeword’ — Watch!

Halsey is showing off their “wild style.”

On Thursday, Feb. 27, the alt-pop star, 30, released her new Ramones-meets-Bikini Kill single “Safeword,” along with an accompanying NSFW, BDSM-inspired music video.

Directed by stylist and Sedition Magazine editor-in-chief Lana Jay Lackey, the visual kicks off with Halsey in studded underwear, a leather jacket, leather cap and knee-high boots.

As the raucous, riot-grrrl-tinged track continues, Halsey turns into a dominatrix, kicking a man in a leather mask on the floor.

“Pin me to the floor, swing me by the neck/ Locked behind a door, it is time yet, time yet?/ Don’t be such a bore, gimme respect/ Are you feeling sore? Are you wet yet, wet yet?” they howl.

Then Halsey becomes the one who’s dominated as a rope is tied around her body while a leather-masked dom spanks them.

Soon enough, the “You Should Be Sad” hitmaker ends up in several other compromising positions —hanging upside down in a mesh bra, star pasties and leggings, enjoying a milkshake on a tray held up by a latex-covered human coffee table and even simulating masturbation.

“Safeword” comes just months after Halsey released their fifth studio album The Great Impersonator.

Ahead of its release, the “Ego” musician impersonated the musicians who inspired the tracks for the album, including Stevie Nicks to Dolly Parton to Bruce Springsteen and Kate Bush.

Earlier this month, Halsey announced their 2025 For My Last Trick tour with an Instagram Reelwhere the “Without Me” starred in a spoof of her canceled “funeral.” (They revealed earlier in 2024 that they were diagnosed with lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022 and grappled with the possibility of death.)

The 32-city tour, produced by Live Nation, is set to kick off on May 10 at Toyota Pavilion at Concord in Concord, Calif., making stops across the U.S. and Canada in Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto, and more, before wrapping up in Highland, Calif. at Yaamava’ Theater on July 6.

It will feature several special guests including Del Water Gap, The Warning, Evanescence, Alvvays, Hope Tala, Sir Chloe, Royel Otis, Flowerovlove, Magdalena Bay, and Alemeda, appearing on select dates.
