LEIF EDLING On CANDLEMASS Taking part in A Present With MESSIAH MARCOLIN: “There Will Be One Present And One Present Solely”

Candlemass is set to reunite with classic vocalist Messiah Marcolin for a one-off show at the Rock Hard Festival in Greece this September. Marcolin originally sang for Candlemass between 1986 and 1991, and then again between 2002 and 2006. Marcolin sang on four classic Candlemass records – Nightfall in 1987, Ancient Dreams in 1988, Tales of Creation in 1989, and Candlemass in 2005.

And no, Marcolin and Candlemass won’t extend their reunion beyond this special one-off show. According to Candlemass bassist and leader Leif Edling in a new video message to fans, this is it.

“ Hello, everybody. This is Leif Edling from Candlemass. We are celebrating 40 years as a band this year, and there will be a lot of happenings. And one of those will be a live gig with Messiah Marcolin in Athens at the Rock Hard Festival on September 13. So that will be a blast, definitely,” said Edling.

“There will be one show and one show only. No recordings, no tours, nothing more, just one show. And I’m sure it will be a fantastic event. And don’t forget our new EP, the Black Star EP. So check it out. Good stuff. And take care. And see you soon on the road somewhere.”

Ticketing information is available here via Rock Hard Greece’s website. Candlemass is set to celebrate their 40th anniversary with a four-track EP dubbed Black Star, due out May 9.

Black Star features two brand-new songs alongside two cover versions of timeless classics – Black Sabbath’s iconic “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” and a rendition of Pentagram’s classic “Forever My Queen”. The EP will be available in various formats, including a strictly limited vinyl edition featuring a 12-page vinyl booklet, an A3 poster, and a tote bag. Pre-orders are available here.
