Beauty influencer Valéria Pantoja — who had over 12,000 Instagram followers — has died, per an announcement shared by her family on May 4.
According to her Instagram bio, the Brazilian content creator provided services like Botox and lip fillers to her clients, many of whom grieved her in comments after learning of her death.
At the time of her death, Pantoja was recovering from bariatric surgery and died in the hospital.
Brazilian influencer Valéria Pantoja died this past weekend, her family confirmed on her Instagram page.
Instagram Stories announcing news of the beauty guru’s death were posted on her account, where she had 12,600 followers. “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Valéria Pantoja,” an English translation of the Portuguese “note of condolence” read.
“She was a beloved person and leaves memories that will comfort our hearts. May God give strength and comfort to family and friends at this difficult time,” the post continued. The family also thanked her fans for their “support and affection.”

As news spread of Pantoja’s tragic death, her followers voiced their grief in comments. Some even identified themselves as clients who had received beauty services like Botox and lip filler from the influencer.
Amid news of her death, her sister-in-law said they’re still uncertain of the actual cause of death, though she noted Pantoja recently underwent bariatric weight loss surgery.

According to her sister-in-law, the late content creator died in the hospital after suddenly becoming ill.
“She didn’t kill herself! She didn’t fall down the stairs! We still don’t know the cause, only after the autopsy!” the family member wrote of Pantoja. “She was recovering from bariatric, she was very weak, got sick at dawn and ended up lifeless in the hospital. Please stop spreading lies!”
