Jason Kelce’s older daughters have officially settled into their newest roles as big sisters.

The retired NFL pro, 37, spoke with PEOPLE on the red carpet at the Amazon Upfront event in New York City on Monday, May 12, and was asked how his older daughters — Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, and Bennett, 2 — are adjusting to becoming older siblings to their baby sister Finnley.

“They’re getting there. I think the older two right away,” the dad of four says. “They love trying to…They like being like mom, and they like being around the newborn.”

“Our youngest, Benny, she took some warming up, but she’s starting to get there, so that’s been good,” adds Jason, who shares his daughters with wife Kylie Kelce.

Jason and Kylie welcomed their fourth daughter together back in March.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jason spoke about how his family spent Mother’s Day, revealing that they’d all gathered together for a brunch to celebrate the Kelce matriarch, Donna Kelce.

“We had a whole crew in. We had a great brunch together, a day together,” Jason told PEOPLE. “It’s special when we all get to get together. It’s hard. There’s a lot of things happening in everybody’s lives, so for all the girls and everybody, it was a good day.”

Earlier in May, Jason admitted on an episode of the New Heights podcast that with all the excitement in his house after welcoming the new baby, he’d almost forgotten about Mother’s Day.

Jason noted that he was “happy” for the special edition of the podcast since it reminded him that the holiday was coming up. That episode of the podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Travis Kelce, 35, featured their mom as a guest.

“I’m happy we’re doing this episode because I forgot all about it,” Jason joked. “As usual.”

Later in the episode, Jason predicted how the Mother’s Day conversation with his wife Kylie would go with the holiday then on the horizon.

“They were out of Mother’s Day cards, so I just got you a Father’s Day card and crossed out ‘father’ on all of them,” he teased, before wondering, “Do they even make Father’s Day cards?”
