Brent Sachio Isaac Hamamoto, a Washington man, has been charged after allegedly killing his wife, Yiwen Lu, two weeks after they got married.

More Details On Brent Sachio Isaac Hamamoto’s Alleged Actions Against His Wife Of Two Weeks, Yiwen Lu

According to USA TodayHamamoto and Lu tied the knot on January 16 after dating for two years. However, authorities believe that on Thursday, January 30, he shot his wife while she was lying in bed in their home. Furthermore, after the first shot, Hamamoto allegedly “moved closer” to shoot Lu a second time and “ensure her death.”

“It appears the defendant used a gun he had only purchased the day before,” prosecutors reportedly asserted in recent court documents.

Per the outlet, Hamamoto filed for a protection order against Lu in September 2024. At the time, he allegedly accused his wife of committing domestic violence and threatening to take their 1-year-old son to China.

“She has been saying for a while that she will only stay if we get married. Yiwen has threatened both to kill herself and our son or to take him away to China or a shelter to make it so I cannot see him ever again,” Hamamoto reportedly wrote in the order, adding that he agreed to marry Lu.

Per USA TodayHamamoto also alleged Lu had sexually assaulted him and provided text messages of her allegedly admitting to “rap(ing)” him. Additionally, at the time, he reportedly asserted Lu had endangered their son on multiple occasions.

“She has threatened to kill my son twice… (She) slaps him sometimes when annoyed with him,” he wrote at the time.

More Details On The Washington Man’s Charges

According to the outlet, Hamamoto has since been charged with second-degree murder. Additionally, authorities report that after the shooting of his wife, Hamamoto fled the scene with their son. Ultimately, the husband was reportedly persuaded by his brother-in-law to turn himself in to authorities.

At this time, Hamamoto is reportedly being held on a $3 million bail at the King County Jail. Per the outlet, he could reportedly face between 15-24 years in prison if convicted of the second-degree murder charge.
