Avicii Enters Spotify’s Prime 100 Most-Streamed Artists of All-Time

Nearly eight years after his tragic death, Avicii is now one of the top 100 most-streamed artists of all-time on Spotify.

The legendary DJ is currently the 96th most streamed artist on the platform with over 20 billion streams, according to Kworb‘s live Spotify artist rankings, which track cumulative streams across the platform. The data reinforces what fans have already known for years: Avicii’s music remains a defining force in EDM culture.

On the same leaderboard, a handful of his peers like David Guetta (25), Calvin Harris (44), The Chainsmokers (83), Marshmello (85) and Kygo (99), also appear, revealing just how rare that level of longevity is for the genre. The top five spots belong to Drake, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber, respectively.

The milestone arrives just weeks after ‘Wake Me Up,’ Avicii’s fan-favorite collaboration with Aloe Blacc, surpassed 3 billion Spotify streams, a threshold reached by an infinitesimally small fraction of tracks in the platform’s history.

The staying power of ‘Wake Me Up,’ however, is nothing new. It became Spotify’s most-streamed song ever after crossing 200 million plays back in 2014 and later became the highest-certified EDM record in RIAA history. That generational dance anthem, along with enduring staples like ‘Levels’ and ‘The Nights,’ have helped keep Avicii’s catalog in constant rotation across editorial playlists and all other funnels for EDM discovery on the platform.

In the years since his death, Avicii’s music has continued finding new audiences through both his legacy catalog as well as selectively curated set of posthumous releases. His latest release arrived in 2025, when his estate released Avicii Forever, which featured the previously unreleased track ‘Let’s Ride Away‘ (with Elle King).
