Boumarang Inc., a leader in hydrogen-powered autonomous aerial drones, last week said it has acquired all intellectual property rights to the Wavedrone platform from Shore House IVF, a technology developer based in the Faroe Islands.

“This acquisition aligns with our mission to lead in autonomous, sustainable solutions,” stated Dánial Hoydal, director of Shore House IVF. “Boumarang’s vision and capabilities position Wavedrone for rapid commercialization and global deployment.”
Wavedrone is an autonomous system designed for aquatic environments, offering dual above-and-below-surface filming capabilities, modularity, and plug-and-play usability. Developed to address real-world challenges in marine observation, search operations, and environmental intelligence, the uncrewed surface vessel (USV) has already garnered strong interest across diverse sectors, said Shore House.
Wavedrone extends reach from sky to sea
The global drone market could surpass $100 billion by 2030 with increasing demand for hybrid and water-based solutions, according to Market.Us. Boumarang claimed its hydrogen-powered drones “have set new standards in performance and sustainability.”
The Irvine, Calif.-based company has designed multi-purpose, AI-driven robots to address commercial, infrastructural, humanitarian, and military challenges. From autonomous last-mile product delivery to emergency response and infrastructure repair, Boumarang said its customizable systems offer performance, patented stability, and superior lifting capacity.
Boumarang added that its integration of Wavedrone positions it to capture significant market share beyond aerial drones. The company said it will extend its reach into aquatic applications including:
Environmental monitoring – Real-time data for water quality, climate impact, and pollution mapping
Media and entertainment – Cinematography above and below the surface for film, sports, and exploration
Search and rescue – Rapid aquatic surveillance for life-saving operations
Aquaculture and fisheries – Monitoring marine health, infrastructure, and fish stocks
BioKey also invests in Boumarang
The $3.5 million acquisition was executed entirely in Boumarang common stock and marks a significant step in Boumarang’s strategic expansion from air to sea.
In a concurrent transactionBioKey International (Nasdaq: BKIY) invested in Boumarang by acquiring 5 million shares in exchange for 20% of BKIY’s issued and outstanding shares. The companies said this strategic equity swap strengthens their synergy, aligning their long-term goals in the rapidly evolving autonomous technology sector.
“The partnership not only enhances Boumarang’s capitalization and visibility, but also provides BioKey with direct exposure to Boumarang’s cutting-edge hydrogen-powered drone innovations across aerial and maritime applications,” the company asserted.
Boumarang said it is looking for partners, investors, and industry stakeholders interested in exploring Wavedrone’s potential. Demonstrations, prototypes, and partnership opportunities are now available upon request.
