Where I’m based (Dublin, Ireland) we didn’t see a single sunny day for over two months at the beginning of the year – from December 31st, 2025 until the beginning of March, we reported over 70 days of straight rain – so, god forbid a girl dreams about a festival in a warm country during a summer month, and while this summer is looking particularly fruitful for festivals, Czech Republic has one of the largest growing alternative festivals in all of Europe, Rock For People.
Catering to alternative fans, rock fans, and metalheads indiscriminately, Rock For People is currently due to welcome over 130 artists from around the world for 5 days in June about 90-minutes outside of Prague in the Czech Republic. The small, previous-Soviet town Hradec Králové is home to abandoned military bunkers and airfields in which Rock For People takes place on, merch tents, activity spaces, and bars tucked into bunkers and food stalls running almost the entirety of the airstrip. The festival has won awards for its sustainability and safety, and go out of their way to make it an accessible area for everyone.
It’s like a small party town comes to life along a main street, with smaller gatherings tucked around stages posted around the grounds. It’s not a small festival by any means, but it’s comfortable, and it caters to quite literally anything you may want.
So, across 5 days from June 10th to June 14th, Rock For People has arranged Bring Me The Horizon, Gorillaz, Limp Bizkit, Halsey, and Iron Maiden to be headliners, with the festival’s most recent wave of band announcements consisting of artists like High Vis, Grade 2, Destroy Boys, Lionheart, Sleep Theory, and I Killed The Prom Queen.
