Huawei FreeArc TWS earphones to be globally launched on February 18

Huawei is hosting a major event on February 18, where the Mate XT tri-fold will be officially unveiled. Additionally, the company will introduce FreeArc earphones, a new over-ear TWS product designed specifically for active sports enthusiasts.

Huawei’s official announcement on social media featured a 15-second teaser showcasing earphones designed to fit securely on all ears. They also offer IP57 water and dust resistance, making them suitable for intense and sweaty activities.

The listing showcased nearly every aspect of the device – it features an earbud connected to a rubber strap that wraps around the ear. Its ergonomic design incorporates a C-bridge structure akin to that of the Freeclip.

The buds are very lightweight and feature a 17 x 12 mm driver unit for bass. They provide a battery life of up to 28 hours on a single charge, while just 10 minutes in the case delivers 3 hours of music playback.

The audio wearables can already be booked in Japan via a crowdfunding platform. While this may seem unconventional, it could signify Huawei’s effort to appear more approachable to Japan’s conservative and highly brand-loyal tech consumers.

Huawei has set the FreeArc’s price at JPY 18,800, roughly equivalent to $125. We will have to wait for the official event in Kuala Lumpur next week to find out if this price will be consistent.
