This was officially Mobile World Congress 2026 week, but Apple decided to unveil some new tech, effectively hijacking some of the spotlight.
Starting off with the iPhone 17e, a subtle update over the 16e. The new phone hasa binned A19 SoC, starts off at 256GB and lacks a 128GB version, and brings the new C1X modem for better connectivity. Most importantly, the 17e costs the same $599 despite the doubled storage. Deliveries begin on March 11.
Apple also unveiled a new iPad Air with the M4 chipset, as well as the new M5 Pro and M5 Max processors.
But what was truly the most interesting of Cupertino’s announcements was the new MacBook Neo, Apple’s first cheap MacBook. The MacBook Neo is the first Mac to run on an A-series chip, the A18 Pro, and has a 13-inch IPS LCD with a 2,408 x 1,506px resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio – the first on a MacBook.
The MacBook Neo has a Magic Keyboard without Touch ID, but it can be configured with one for a bit of cash. The laptop has 8GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. There are two USB-Cs, one USB 3, one USB 2, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and two speakers.
The MacBook Neo comes in Silver, Blush (pink), Citrus (yellow), and Indigo (blue) colors. It starts from $599/€699/£599/₹69,900 and will ship on March 11.
The M4 is 30% faster than the M3 chip in last year’s iPad Air models and 230% faster than M1-powered iPad Airs.
It also packs a 13-inch Liquid Retina display and runs full macOS 26 Tahoe with Apple Intelligence.
Infinix launched the Note 60 Ultra, designed by Pininfarina. The phone packs a 200MP main camera and a 7,000mAh battery. At the back, it has a huge Gorilla Glass Victus-clad camera island with a matrix-dot display and a red LED digital taillight. The phone is coming to Malaysia first, starting from MYR 3,000 for the 12/512GB model.
Nothing unveiled the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro. The Pro has a metal unibody, a slightly larger 6.83-inch 144Hz display, and a faster Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. Oh, and a larger Glyth screen on the back. The Phone (4a) has a semi-transparent back and a Glyth bar. Interestingly, the pair basically shares the same cameras. The Phone (4a) will go on sale on March 13, while the Pro is coming later, on the 27th.
The phone is also the first to support two-way calling over satellite across multiple countries.
The Pro model will be available in the US.
Nothing showcased all four colorways of its upcoming device at MWC.
Our Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra review is out and during its course, we found out that the S26 Ultra doesn’t use a periscope lens design for its 5x telephoto camera, but rather a conventional one – where there’s no prism structure, and the lens sits parallel with the sensor.
That physical change brings two differences – the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a close focusing distance of 52cm, which is double that of the S25 Ultra. On a positive note, the bokeh of the new lens has traditional circular highlights and not the rectangular, nastier ones that are typical of a periscope setup.
The phone’s 5x telephoto camera (and the 200MP main) have a wider aperture than S25 Ultra’s 5x camera. However, that is not the whole story.
It will be the first Ultra model in the Find X series to launch globally.
