Joey Bada$$ and Serayah popped out givin’ very much beautiful black love on the cover of Essence May digital issue, ‘Of The Essence.’ During the sit-down, the couple got real about steeping into a whole new season — parenthood! They are expecting their first baby together and told Essence it’s a boy!
Serayah said “she’s feeling good and almost at the finish line,” while Joey Bada$$ kept it 100 about being ready to run it back as a dad. Even though he already has a daughter, who keeps a low profile the rapper is excited to welcome his son and step into a new era as he and Serayah are entering the 30 club this year.
“We both turn 30 this year. I turned 30 in January, she turns 30 in June. So naturally, there’s a lot of transitional things happening in our lives, and it’s very, very symbolic at this point in time right now,” Joey said.

Joey and Serayah have been trending lately and they are not letting up. While sharing their baby’s gender, Joey slid in another bomb that he put a ring on Serayah, y’all! In the middle of his rap beef with Ray Vaughn, Joey fired back at the ‘H*e Era’ diss by dropping his own track called ‘The Finals.’ But what really had folks shook was the bar where he casually let it slip that he and Serayah are engaged.
“Want me to engage so you mention my fiancée,” Joey says on the track.
Serayah already had fans speculating that Joey proposed after she popped on TikTok with a rock on finger while doing the viral ‘Fairy’ dance.
