Lenovo is launching a host of new Legion-branded gaming devices – handheld consoles, laptops, desktops, monitors and also a tablet. The successor to the Legion Tab boosts performance, improves cooling and is coming later this month.
The big upgrade on the Lenovo Legion Tab (2025) is the switch to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset – it’s not the latest, but this will bring a massive performance increase over the 8+ Gen 1 of the previous slate.
Also, keep in mind that this is a $500 tablet. For this price, you’re getting 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM (8,533MHz) and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Lenovo made the ColdFront vapor chamber 14% larger to improve cooling.

Another upgrade is the screen – it’s still an 8.8” LCD with 2,560 x 1,600px resolution (16:10), but now its refresh rate goes up to 165Hz (up from 144Hz). It’s brighter too, at 500 nits normally and up to 900 nits in high brightness mode. The display has 98% DCI-P3 coverage and supports HDR10.
The new chipset brings extra oomph as well as new connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 (including the 6GHz band) is now supported for a lower-latency connection, as is Bluetooth 5.4.
As before, the tablet has two USB-C ports – one on the bottom and one on the side – with passthrough charging. This extends the life of the 6,550mAh battery and reduces heat if you use an external power source. Note that only one port is wired for fast data (10Gbps), the other is USB 2.0.

The Lenovo Legion Tab (2025) comes with Android 14 out of the box with Legion Space and Game Assistant, which will help you balance performance and battery life, as well as toggle various game-related features. Lenovo is promising three OS updates.
The tablet has a metal chassis (available only in Eclipse Black) that weighs the same as the previous model at 350g/0.77lbs but is a bit thicker at 7.8mm/0.31” (up from 7.6mm/0.30”).
For audio, there are a pair of 2712 superlinear speakers with Dolby Atmos support plus two microphones. There is a 13MP camera on the back (and a 2MP macro module), the front has an 8MP camera.
The Lenovo Legion Tab (2025) will be available later this month at $500. You can find it on the Lenovo US site if you want a closer look.
