Matthew McConaughey swaps his Texas twang for a Chicago accent in Uber Eats’ Super Bowl commercial.
The Oscar winner, 55, gets a Midwestern makeover in the 30-second ad teaser and PEOPLE has an exclusive early look at the spot.
As the teaser begins, McConaughey struts to a full-length mirror with a photo of Chicago Bears’ former coach Mike Ditka taped beside it. Next to the taped picture, the Greenlights author looks nearly identical to the Pro Football Hall of Famer with his hair combed back, a button down and tie underneath a Bears crewneck sweater and, most importantly, a thick mustache.

While up close to his reflection, McConaughey practices saying “the Bears.” “Sounds good but not the man,” he critiques himself, jumping into several attempts of replicating the Chicago accent and munching on some food between attempts.
The father of three compliments himself at some points — “Oh! Getting close!” he says after one attempt — and tries some unconventional vocal exercises to try and nail the voice. Finally, he surprises himself with a perfect, “Da Bears.” After confirming it isn’t a fluke, the star puts on his sunglasses, says it one more time to his reflection and walks away from the mirror. “Uber Eats 02.09.25” flashes across the screen at the end of the clip.

McConaughey breaks down a conspiracy theory in another Uber Eats teaser shared on Monday, Jan. 27. The paranoia-filled ad gives fans a hint of what is to come with Uber Eats’ full Super Bowl commercial, which will air during the Big Game on Sunday, Feb. 9. The ad will dive into a scheme about football being invented to sell food, according to a press release.
Last year’s Uber Eats’ Super Bowl commercial featured Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, David and Victoria Beckham, Jelly Roll and Usher. The commercial centered on forgetfulness — like the husband-wife duo calling the Spice Girls the cinnamon sisters and the singer thinking that his face tattoos are a scribbled prank.
