Michael Urie knows how to put on a show.
On Thursday, March 27 in Beverly Hills, Calif., the actor, 44, hosted the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which recognizes creators who have released art that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community. The Shrinking star made a whopping seven outfit changes throughout the night, each more colorful and jaw-dropping as the next.

“It was an honor to host this year’s GLAAD Media Awards,” Urie tells PEOPLE. “Our queer siblings across the country — especially in the trans community — who are being punished and politicized deserved a night that reminded them they’re not alone.”
He continues, “I was very excited to celebrate them, and the great art and media of the past year. (And to have some fun fashion moments of course!)”
Ahead, check out Urie’s behind-the-scenes photo diary from the fun and glamorous night.
