Mike Myers Makes Shock ‘SNL’ Cameo as Elon Musk: Watch

Mike Myers was back on Saturday Night Live!

The actor and comedian, 61, made a surprise cameo as Elon Musk during the late-night comedy sketch series’ March 1 episode, which was hosted by Shane Gillis and saw Tate McRae perform as the musical guest.

Myers appeared in the cold open as the tech billionaire, 53, alongside James Austin Johnson’s President Donald Trump and Bowen Yang’s Vice President J.D. Vance in a spoof of the politicians’ Feb. 28 White House meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was played by Mikey Day.

During the sketch, Johnson’s Trump told Day’s Zelensky, “You’re not even wearing a suit. It’s disrespectful — who shows up to the White House in a T-shirt and jeans like a garbage person?”

Myers then appeared as Musk, dressed in jeans, a black coat and a “Tech Support” printed T-shirt while holding up a chainsaw. “Hi guys,” Myers said while stuttering, before Johnson responded, “Elon, we love your outfit. Very official and respectful.”

“Thanks, Donald,” Myers then replied as Musk, adding: ”What are you doing in my office? You know I’m the president now, right? I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Maybe not.”

“Oh, you know you’ve got to make a joke,” continued Myers, then jumping in the air shouting, “Legalize comedy” — the same phrase Musk used while speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February.

Myers’ Musk and Johnson’s Trump then spoke about recent government layoffs, poking fun at how the CEO is currently the head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“They’re saying I’m firing people with no cause. But I do have cause — it’s ‘cause’ I feel like it,” Myers exclaimed.

“They’re doing mass firings in the government. We love mass firings,” Johnson added, as Myers responded that they are “firing the non-essential employees, like air traffic controllers.”

Myers originally starred on SNL from 1989 to 1995.

He recently recalled having “anxiety attacks” alongside his former costars Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon and Jan Hooks during their early days on the show while appearing at the Vulture Festival in December 2024.

“When I got to SNL and saw how f—ing good these guys were, I was scared s—less. I had an anxiety attack,” Myers said. “It was unbelievable.”

He added of performing his early sketches on the show, “It was cheer stomps and whistles. It was a jet taking off. I don’t know what happened, but the audience just went for it.”

Saturday Night Live airs weekends on NBC.
