Pedro Pascal Reveals Off Lean Physique After Wrapping ‘Implausible 4: First Steps’



Pedro Pascal is looking super fit as he gets into superhero mode.

The Last of Us actor, 49, was spotted leaving the gym on Tuesday, Jan. 7, looking noticeably trimmed down after wrapping filming for Marvel’s upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In the new movie, he plays Reed Richards, who becomes the elastic Mr. Fantastic after he, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm are exposed to cosmic rays during a space mission.

In the new photos, Pascal wore a black T-shirt and black basketball shorts as he walked down the street.

Filming for First Steps went from late July to late November 2024 at London’s Pinewood Studios, with additional scenes being filmed in Oviedo, Spain.

Marvel Studios revealed the cast via social media in February 2024.

“Happy Valentine’s Day from Marvel’s First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four,” the company captioned a Feb. 14 Instagram post.

The accompanying illustration showed the actors wearing blue clothing as they gathered together in a living room, relaxing in various ways. A “Happy Valentine’s Day” banner was hung above them.

Kirby, 36, plays Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, while Quinn, 30, plays her brother, Johnny Storm/Human Torch. Moss-Bachrach, 47, plays Ben Grimm/The Thing.

All four actors, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and director Matt Shakman attended San Diego Comic-Con to tease the movie. At the time, Pascal referred to them as his “New family.”

“I don’t think I’ve laughed so much in a rehearsal period before,” Kirby said of working with fellow British actor Quinn. “When you read the comics, you feel a lot of joy… hopefully we can bring that into the movie.”

Pascal’s most recent on-screen role came in director Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II, the sequel to the 2000 film starring Russell Crowe.

The Chilean-American actor starred as Roman warrior Marcus Acacius opposite Paul Mescal — who portrayed Lucius Verus, the son of the original Gladiator’s Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and nephew of villain Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix). as an idol.

In a July interview with Vanity Fair about his “brutal” fight scenes with Mescal, Pascal shared how he came up with a nickname for his costar.

“I call him Brick Wall Paul,” he said of Mescal, 28. “He got so strong. I would rather be thrown from a building than have to fight him again.”

“To go up against somebody that fit and that talented and that much younger,” Pascal said. “Outside of Ridley being a total genius, Paul is a big reason as to why I would put my poor body through that experience.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters on July 25.
