Introduction and specs
It’s all about bleeding-edge design. The Galaxy S25 Edge is taking Samsung to places it hasn’t explored in recent years. It’s the lightest and thinnest Galaxy phone in a while now, and it arrives as a breath of fresh air in the era of behemoths with huge camera bumps and large bodies.
The Galaxy S25 Edge impresses with just 5.8mm thickness and 163g weight – as light as the smallest Galaxy S25, but considerably thinner. That’s not a small feat considering its 6.7-inch screen diagonal.

Speaking of display, the device doesn’t compromise in this regard at all. It features a high-end LTPO OLED panel with all the bells and whistles. The chipset is Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite. Of course, it’s the “for Galaxy” edition with higher clocked main cores and GPU.

Another obvious compromise is the battery. The device packs a 3,900 mAh unit, less than what you would find in the small Galaxy S25. Charging is rated at 25W and Samsung was able to cram inside a charging coil for wireless charging too.
The camera department is a mixture of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the S25/S25+. The S25 Edge borrows the big 200MP sensor from the S25 Ultra and the ultrawide from the S25/S25+, but with added autofocus. The only thing missing is a telephoto camera, but that’s to be expected from a phone this thin.
It’s obvious that Samsung took the “design over function” route with the S25 Edge, and it’s aimed at users looking for the best possible portability. Will this be a winning strategy, and will Samsung pave the way for a future market segment? Let’s find out.
Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
The Galaxy S25 Edge arrives in a thin, modest box containing only one USB-C to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer and the usual user manuals.
The charger itself isn’t included, of course, so you’d have to buy one separately from Samsung. The phone supports up to 25W fast charging over Power Delivery, but with Samsung’s proprietary PPS.
