Serve Robotics Inc. yesterday launched its delivery service using sidewalk robots in the Miami metropolitan area. The company also expanded its existing partnership with Shake Shack Inc. and established a partnership with Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza.
Customers who order from select Shake Shack and Mister O1 locations in the Brickell and Miami Beach neighborhoods through Uber Eats, the delivery platform of Uber Technologies Inc., could receive their food from Serve’s autonomous robots.
“Uber Eats is thrilled to expand our partnership with Serve Robotics, bringing autonomous delivery to the vibrant streets of Miami,” said Megan Jensen, head of autonomous delivery operations at Uber. “We’re always exploring different ways to enhance the delivery experience, and this latest innovation makes getting your favorite meals even more effortless and fun.”
Spun off from Uber in 2021, Serve Robotics said it has completed tens of thousands of deliveries for enterprise partners such as Uber Eats and 7-Eleven. The company added that it has scalable multi-year contracts, including a signed agreement to deploy up to 2,000 delivery robots on the Uber Eats platform across multiple U.S. markets.
Serve Robotics eyes Miami, other cities
Serve Robotics said this expansion builds on its successful multi-year growth in Los Angeles and its planned entry into the Dallas-Fort Worth market. With approximately 120,000 residents and bustling commercial districts, Miami Beach and Brickell provide an ideal setting for sustainable robotic delivery, said the company.
Serve raised $86 million in December, bringing its total gross proceeds raised in 2024 to $167 million. The startup said it has raised $220 million in total funding, including $13 million in 2021, $30 million in a 2023 reverse merger, and a $40 million initial public offering in early 2024.
With this war chest, the company is aggressively expanding into new markets such as Miami. It has a strategic plan to deploy 2,000 robots across the U.S. by the end of 2025.

Shake Shack and Mister 01 to make more robotic deliveries
In August 2024, Serve Robotics announced the expansion of its partnership with Shake Shack with deliveries in Hollywood.

Serve Robotics has also expanded its merchant partnership with autonomous delivery services for pizza maker Mister 01.
