Electronic music has officially become the dominant sound at Coachella, claiming the lion’s share of the festival’s bookings for the second year in a row, according to new data from Booking Agent Info.
DJs, producers and live electronic acts comprise 45% of Coachella’s 2026 lineup, up from 39% in 2025. That leap signals a defining shift for the iconic festival, which once leaned heavily on rock, pop and indie sounds but has since reshaped its identity by heavily investing in EDM-focused programming, like the ambitious Quasar stage and longtime staple Do LaB.
Among the most notable details is Anyma’s headlining placement at the bottom of the poster, a slot previously reserved for contemporary superstars like Travis Scott and No Doubt, each of whom performed on the mainstage. Other major electronic acts on this year’s lineup include Rezz, Subtronics, Kaskade, Disclosure, Kettama and a collaborative DJ set from Armin van Buuren and Adam Beyer. The bill also includes EDM.com Class of 2024 alumni Hamdi and Levity, along with Class of 2025 artist Max Styler.
While dance music dominates, rock maintains a strong presence at 25% with The Strokes, Interpol, The Rapture, Iggy Pop and more. Nine Inch Noize, a collaboration between Nine Inch Nails and influential electronic producer Boys Noize, doubles down on EDM’s influence throughout the lineup.
At 17%, pop delivers some of the festival’s biggest mainstream draws in headliners Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber. Hip-hop, however, makes up just 7%, a noticeable dip compared to years past when the genre was integral to Coachella’s musical identity. Still, heavyweights like Young Thug and Sexyy Red keep the genre on the radar for 2026.

Smaller but notable slices of the lineup include R&B/Afrobeat (2%) with Davido and Dijon, Latin (2%) led by headliner Karol G alongside Luísa Sonza and Los Hermanos Flores, and K-Pop (2%) with BIGBANG, BINI and KATSEYE.
The rise of electronic music at Coachella mirrors a broader industry trend. A separate analysis from Booking Agent Info examining major US festivals over the last 10 years found that EDM has overtaken rock as the most-represented genre across lineups.
