Apple has already launched three new MacBooks this year, but one more model rumored for this fall—MacBook Ultra—could make for Apple’s largest lineup of MacBooks ever.
MacBook Ultra would give Apple four distinct MacBook models, the most ever

It’s been a big year for the Mac. Apple launched MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M5 chips in March, plus the all-new MacBook Neo.
With MacBook Neo, Apple expanded its MacBook lineup to three models—tying the previous most.
But a fourth member of the MacBook family might arrive later this year.
MacBook Ultra is the rumored name for Apple’s upcoming touchscreen-equipped new model.
The new model was previously expected to be branded ‘MacBook Pro,’ and still might be, but it’s currently rumored to be the first ‘MacBook Ultra’ instead.
New features include:
All-new design that’s thinner and lighter than MacBook Pro
M6 chip family
Touchscreen, the first in a Mac
OLED display
Dynamic Island replacing notch
Plus a wildcard rumor: C2 cellular modem
If Apple does brand this new product MacBook Ultra, it would be the first time the MacBook lineup offered four distinct models.
In the past, not counting size variants, there have only ever been three MacBooks at a time. Historically this has been the MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.
But soon, we could see a lineup consisting of MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Ultra.
Apple is growing its lineup of iPhones too, with six new models coming next year, so expanding the MacBook line isn’t an isolated change. Rather, it’s part of the company’s plan to reach as many customers as possible with more price points than ever.
