Hanover, June 30, 2025-Technology, art and social message merge in an extraordinary project of the Spanish theater group Antigua I Barbuda at the DIY event Maker Faire Hannover, which takes place on August 23 and 24 in the HCC. With “La Danseuse”, a mechanical ballerina over five meters high, the artists set a powerful sign of female empowerment – implemented with impressive engineering.
The Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC) is transforming the largest maker meeting in German-speaking countries for the eleventh time into a creative ideas for ideas. One of the main attractions this year: the fascinating performance of “La Danseuse”, which impressively combines technical delicacy and graceful movement.
“This unique theater experience from objects in motion symbolizes freedom and female strength,” explains the theater group, which her monumental machine woman presents for the first time in Germany.
One thing is certain: “La Danseuse” will be amazed with her presence and expressiveness – and show how machines not only work, but can also touch. “In keeping with our show Act and the variety of projects of our exhibitors, this year’s Maker Faire is under the motto ‘where ideas dance and technology enthusiastically,” explains Daniel Rohlfing, Head of Events & Sales Maker Faire Germany. “That makes you curious and hits the core of the event.”
Since their premiere in 2013, Maker Faire Hannover has inspired over 140,000 visitors. With interactive stations, workshops and presentations, it offers the ideal setting for a project like “La Danseuse”. In addition to the machine performance, guests can expect numerous other creative ideas from makers, inventors and researchers at around 230 stands who invite you to participate and be amazed.
Tickets for the Maker Faire Hannover are available in the online shop or at the box office (cashless). Entry for adults costs 24 euros, reduced 19 euros. Children under the age of 10 can be free of charge. The event opens on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Further information at: maker-faire.de
