Argentine and U.S. officials launched a defense industry conference, to attract investments in Argentina’s defense industry.
The Argentine Minister of Defense, Luis Petriand the U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, Marc Stanley, launched the “Opportunities and Challenges in the Defense Industry” conference
The event aimed to address key issues and foster bilateral cooperation in defense.
Held at the Faculty of Army Engineering, the event gathered academics, officials, and industry representatives from both countries.
The conference sought to draw investments into Argentina’s defense industry and initiate discussions on technological innovation.
Petri revealed the dire state of the defense sector when he took office, marked by deficits and halted production.
“Our defense companies, which should drive our strategic military development, had become political tools,” Petri stated.
He emphasized the need to revive these companies to contribute to national defense and industry.
