GRiZ Hints at Shock Do LaB Set Throughout Coachella Weekend 2

Coachella‘s beloved Do LaB stage may have another surprise up its sleeve this weekend, and all signs are pointing to GRiZ.

The superstar DJ and producer has been dropping hints on his Instagram Story this week, sending the rumor mill into overdrive. He wrote: “hmmm…what’s going on this weekend?? anything fun to Do?” notably capitalizing the “D” in “Do.”

A follow-up Story posted yesterday added more fuel: “workin on some new music for…well…i wish i had somewhere to play it this weekend.” GRiZ then released a new single this morning, ‘BBFL, making the timing difficult to ignore.

A surprise GRiZ set would be a long time coming. Originally booked for Coachella 2020 before the pandemic cancelled the festival, he later stepped away from performing entirely before returning to the stage this past October.

The Do LaB has built a reputation for stunning surprise performances, inviting to its open-air stage Skrillex, ODESZA, RÜFÜS DU SOL and even Billie Eilish. Last year, Zeds Dead closed out the stage on Sunday fresh off the release of Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness, and this past Friday, John Summit played a surprise set ahead of the April 15th release of his sophomore album, CTRL ESCAPE.

It’s important to note that neither GRiZ nor Do Lab has confirmed a surprise set at the time of this writing. But the breadcrumbs are hard to ignore. Coachella returns to its longtime home at Indio’s Empire Polo Club from April 17-19 and you can watch the festival live here.
