Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran Lastly Drop ‘Repeat It,’ Over a Decade within the Making

Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran have released ‘Repeat It’ on Garrix’s own STMPD RCRDS imprint, delivering on a promise that dates back to 2014.

The track has been one of electronic music’s longest-running “coming soon” stories. Sheeran first announced the single in late 2014, Garrix premiered it at Ultra Music Festival in 2015, and the track has been played in their performances for years, while an official release remained out of reach. The rollout playfully acknowledged that history with billboards reading “hi ed, can we please release our song? xx marty” appearing in the Dominican Republic ahead of Sheeran’s show in Santo Domingo.

‘Repeat It’ opens with light, airy guitar strumming before Sheeran’s vocals arrive, soft and sensitive in the way only he can deliver. The lyrics reach for something desperate and all-consuming: “If the world ends tonight, you’ll be in my arms. We’ll be frozen in time, underneath the stars.” Garrix’s production runs underneath, crisp and propulsive, keeping the track winding forward while the guitar and vocal hold the feeling together.

Fans may get a chance to hear it live this weekend when Garrix takes the stage at EDC Las Vegas. Having just launched the largest headline tour of his career on May 1, 2026, his summer also includes festival stops at Tomorrowland and Creamfields, among others, and residencies at Ushuaïa Ibiza and OMNIA Las Vegas.
