A newlywed man died suddenly just hours after marrying in India.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, revenue assistant Amol Prakash Godbole, 31, married his wife in a ceremony attended by relatives and guests of both bride and groom, per The Times of India. Their nuptials were held at Shri Vitthal Rukmini Temple Hall in the village of Pusla.
The occasion was followed by tragedy, as Godbole reportedly began to feel unwell shortly after his wedding. The Indian outlet states that he was brought to a local health center and later taken to a private hospital, however he was determined to be dead upon arrival. The Times of India cited a heart attack as his cause of death.
The news site also details the effect Godbole’s death had on his grieving community. Condolences are reportedly being sent from across the region.
In similarly tragic news, weeks earlier, a groom in Egypt died suddenly during his September wedding reception in Egypt, according to video and news reports. The Daily Mail cited a published video of the moment Ashraf Abu Hakam collapsed while dancing with his bride.

The video shows Hakam waving a Saidi stick, a prop used for the traditional Egyptian Saidi dance, in celebration. Guests were reportedly horrified after he collapsed on the dance floor.
Attempts were made to revive Hakam but they were unsuccessful, according to United Arab Emirates news source Gulf News. He suffered a cardiac arrest and died within moments of collapsing, the outlet reported.
Hakam was remembered on social media by a friend as being “full of life” and “excited for his future,” per Gulf News.
