Offers: the iPhone Air is £200 off, Poco and Nothing Telephones on sale

Last week, we looked at some iPhone 17e and 17 Pro Max discounts – now let’s have a peek at a different model, the iPhone Air.

The phone is one of the thinnest around, measuring 5.6mm and weighing only 165g. It has a titanium frame to keep it tough despite its slender build. The phone has the powerful Apple A19 Pro chipset and a 6.5” LTPO display. What it sacrifices is most of its camera hardware – there’s only a 48MP (1/1.56”) unit on the back – and its battery capacity. The small 3,149mAh battery posted an average endurance with an Active Use Score of 12:44h.

The Google Pixel 10 is a smaller phone with a 6.3” screen. Well, it’s smaller in terms of height and width, it’s actually thicker (8.6mm) and heavier (204g). This gives it a bigger battery, 4,970mAh. However, due to the poor efficiency of its Tensor G5 chipset, it only achieved an Active Use Score of 12:08h.

If you want something cheaper, the Pixel 10a is another 6.3” option from Google. This one uses the older Tensor G4 chipset. This might be a blessing in disguise since the slightly bigger 5,100mAh battery lasts noticeably longer with a 15:13h Active Use Score. Note that the 10a loses Pixel 10’s 10.8MP 5x/112mm periscope camera.

Last week, the Nothing Phone (4b) was on pre-order, now the phone is available. But is it worth it? It’s £80 cheaper than the base 8/128GB version of the Nothing Phone (4a), which you can find on nothing.tech. The (4a) has the better chipset (Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 vs. 6 Gen 4), better storage (UFS 3.1 vs. UFS 2.2), better cameras (including a 50MP 3.5x/80mm periscope) and a comparable battery (5,080mAh vs. 5,200mAh).

It costs double, so it’s no surprise that the Nothing Phone (3) is better than the (4b). This price is with a solid £300 discount, by the way. Nothing’s one and only flagship uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a 5,150mAh Si/C battery with 65W wired and 15W wireless charging. It has a large 1/1.3” 50MP sensor in its main camera, a 50MP 3x periscope and a 50MP 114° ultra-wide.

The Poco F8 Pro is cheaper while also offering a faster Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It has a similar screen, a 6.59” 12-bit OLED, and a bigger 6,210mAh battery (100W wired-only charging). It is equipped with a 50MP main camera (1/1.55” sensor), a 50MP 2.5x/60mm telephoto and an 8MP 120° ultra-wide.

For £30 more than the Nothing, the Poco F8 Ultra brings the current best Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It pairs it with a large 6.9” 12-bit OLED display and a fast 6,500mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Poco put extra effort into the camera department too with a 50MP main (1/1.31”), 50MP 5x/115mm periscope and a 50MP ultra-wide. The Poco X8 Pro is worth a look as an alternative to the Nothing Phone (4b). It uses the Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset and a 6,500mAh battery (100W wired-only charging). The phone has a 6.59” 12-bit OLED display and a simple-but-capable 50+8MP camera.
