Social media has lots to say after viral internet personality known to fans as Mr. Fantasy took his hijinks offline yesterday, performing in his debut Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Mr. Fantasya TikToker known for his hilariously unhinged videos, over-the-top cheeky Britishness and, most importantly, his striking resemblance to actor KJ Apa, has taken the internet by storm since Aug. 19, when he posted his first video to an account with the handle @iamtherealmrfantasy.
At the time, fans were immediately quick to comment on the TikToker’s uncanny resemblance to the 28-year-old Riverdale star. Fans also noticed that, in addition to Apa and Mr. Fantasy’s identical facial features, the pair have the same tattoos.

Over the last few months, the content creator has continued to blow up online, even going as far as to release his own music, including his first song, “Mr. Fantasy,” and the later track “Wayuwanna.”
Apa’s potential alter ego has been open about his hopes and dreams for his burgeoning career as his songs and content continue to keep the online world in a chokehold.
And yesterday, Mr. Fantasy’s career got a tick bigger — when he took to a pirate ship float, sailing through Manhattan as a part of Macy’s iconic Thanksgiving Day parade — exchanging his Mr. Fantasy title in favor of the fitting Captain Fantasy.
Captain Fantasy donned a signature, eccentric outfit for his trip, wearing beige plaid pants, pointed-toe boots, green sunglasses and a green, pirate’s coat complete with gold epaulettes and a swash-buckling sword.

The outfit isn’t out of the ordinary for Mr.Fantasy, who told PEOPLE in an October interview that he gets his style inspiration from the “baboons that are swinging from the trees outside,” and his “brilliant mind.”
“I like going to vintage thrift stores. I like having a good thrift sniff. And Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix,” he shared. “It comes from many different people, but ultimately when I go into a thrift store, and I start sniffing things, I can’t be stopped.”
Fans were delighted by the content creator’s appearance at the beloved Thanksgiving Day tradition, with many writing in the comments of Mr. Fantasy’s video to express their happiness. Though, for the uninitiated, the eccentrically-dressed, vaguely British man with bangs and a bob on their TV screen, may have been slightly confusing.
“I announced to my whole family that Mr. Fantasy made it in the parade and they looked at me like a crazy person. #welovefantasy,” wrote one commenter.
Another joked that, “explaining Mr. Fantasy to my family took 25 minutes and two mimosas.”
“You are the only one I left my kitchen for this morning….. Well, you and the Rockettes. 💃😅❤️,” said another.
Mr. Fantasy’s appearance at the parade comes just before an exciting time for the TikToker, who announced the release of his latest single “Catapult” on Friday, Nov. 28.
In the videoMr. Fantasy roller skates down a board walk, drives a car-like boat and goes clubbing, all while singing, “I feel my body move in the way she catapults,” in true Mr. Fantasy fashion.
“Everything that I do is for the music, and I nurture it like this, like this p—- you see right here. I touch the p—-, and I pat her, and that is exactly what it’s like to be my songs. I look after the pussycat and I look after my songs,” he told PEOPLE in October.
Mr. Fantasy hasn’t confirmed his connection to the actor, and in fact, frequently goes out of his way to be clear: he doesn’t even know who KJ Apa is.
When asked if he had ever seen the show Riverdale, featuring Apa’s breakout role, Mr. Fantasy said simply, “No, I haven’t.”
