Convergence Ballet is delighted to unveil its 2025–2026 season, ushering in a vibrant new era under the artistic leadership of incoming Artistic Director Ian Parsons. A distinguished educator, choreographer, and former international performer, Parsons brings a wealth of experience to the company. Trained at Canada’s National Ballet School, he graced stages with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and The National Ballet of Canada before appearing in acclaimed productions like Cabaret, Cats, and Les Misérables. His choreography, celebrated globally, complements his extensive teaching career at prestigious institutions in Canada, the UK, and beyond.

With Parsons at the helm, Convergence Ballet will continue to honor its classical foundations while embracing innovative choreography and collaborations that capture the dynamic spirit of the Phoenix dance community.

The season opens with the cherished holiday classic, The Nutcracker, returning to the Herberger Theater Center from December 12–14, 2025. In partnership with Act One, a special student matinee on December 10 will introduce young audiences across the Valley to this enchanting tradition. Tickets are available now at convergenceballet.org.

In the spring, the company takes the stage at the Dorrance Theater for its Spring Gala on April 26, 2026, presenting a captivating mixed repertory program featuring Parsons’ original works. Among them is The Field, Before It Spoke, a lyrical piece set to Vaughan Williams’ Six Studies in English Folksong, exploring the delicate interplay between memory and imagination. Another highlight, With a Little Help from the Static, offers a playful, theatrical journey where Beatles remixes meet Baroque music, inviting audiences into a whimsical dreamscape.

Additional repertory and guest artist announcements, including a tribute to Convergence’s early seasons, will follow in the coming months. The company will also continue its Maricopa County Library Storybook series throughout the summer, bringing free, family-friendly performances to communities across the Valley.
