A new report from Macworld based on social media leaks claims to know iPhone 18 Pro Max’s exact battery capacity, and it seems impressive.
Here is the alleged iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity
Rumors have long indicated that iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will have larger batteries than their predecessors. Though recent reporting suggests it might not be by very much.
But today, Macworld shared the following alleged iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacities:
iPhone 18 Pro Max with eSIM: 5,425 mAh
iPhone 18 Pro Max with physical SIM: 5,235 mAh
These are fairly significant increases from iPhone 17 Pro Max’s battery, which is 5,088 mAh and 4,823 mAh for eSIM and physical SIM models, respectively.
iPhone 17 Pro Max already has impressive battery life. And iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to best it not only with a physically larger battery, but also efficiency gains provided by the A20 Pro chip.
This report, however, has questionable sourcing.
It points to a variety of social media posts that are hard to trace to their original source.
The best argument for these battery numbers being accurate is that their timing coincides with the very real data breach that Apple supplier Tata Electronics recently experienced. Leaks related to that breach show all signs of being legitimate.
We don’t know if these battery numbers originated with the Tata breach, but their timing and questionable origins make that a possibility worth considering. And if they prove true, iPhone 18 Pro Max should last impressively long between charges.
Is a larger battery on your feature wish list? Or do you think iPhone 17 Pro Max is good enough? Let us know in the comments.
