Konstanz, November 2025 – fruitcore robotics is taking industrial automation to a new level with the new release of its horstOS operating system. With the update, the software receives numerous PLC functions. Not only the robot, but entire processes can be easily controlled with and without AI support. The result: More performance, less effort – true autonomy in automation.
More output through parallelism
With the new “Parallel Processes” function, users can set up simultaneous processes via a uniquely intuitive graphical interface – without any PLC knowledge. This means that cycle times can be significantly reduced for tasks such as part separation, for example, since robot movement and component localization can take place at the same time.
The interface for setting up parallel processes fits seamlessly into the intuitive user interface of horstOS, making the implementation of more complex processes easier than ever before. For users, this means independence, flexibility and time savings, as processes can be created quickly without external expert knowledge and adjusted at any time if necessary.
Ready to start immediately with project and component templates
The new project management in horstOS enables even easier organization of different setups and applications. Thanks to preconfigured project templates, users can set up new projects in a very short time and manage them in a structured manner.
Building individual project setups is also effortless using the extensive component library with over 200 “pre-trained” accessories. The components – from safety technology to grippers to cameras – are fully stored with 3D models, standard functions, interface information and documentation. This means that a wide variety of applications can be implemented quickly and with a high quality standard.
Faster, everything on a pallet
Faster implementation of end-of-line packaging and other palletizing tasks is made possible by the further developed palletizing wizard function. Multi-layer pallets can now be created completely graphically and without textual programming, significantly reducing setup complexity.

More productive thanks to auto-start
Another PLC functionality is now offered by the start-up routine, which enables users to start the system fully automatically: After switching on the robot, initialization, program call and program start are carried out automatically. This means that after switching on the robot, the operator can immediately concentrate on other tasks while the robot starts operating independently.
On the way to a networked everyday production, another important new IoT functionality complements horstOS: It automatically informs the user via email in the event of downtimes, thus enabling quick intervention to increase system availability.

Leading the way in AI-powered automation
Since the first integration of AI functions into productive operations two years ago, fruitcore robotics has consistently developed its AI expertise. With the new release, the AI Copilot is based on the latest ChatGPT technology, providing even more precise answers and also enabling natural, dialog-based interaction.
The AI Copilot thus keeps pace with the dynamic development of the AI world and supports users even more efficiently in setting up and operating their robots. Future expansions will increasingly simplify collaboration with the AI Copilot, for example via voice input, and specifically advance intuitive, AI-supported programming.
